About
Ancient Artifacts 2 is a datapack built around collecting more than 50 artifacts, each with its own abilities and one to five levels, while equipping up to two at a time. Artifacts are found by exploring overgrown structures across the dimensions, defeating their mobs, and opening artifact chests with amethyst shards; the pack includes more than 40 structures and two custom boss fights with bespoke music and boss bars. The artifacts offer varied effects, from regenerating and strengthening tamed mobs with the Allies Amulet to parrying attacks with the Combo Boots, restoring health through the Lifesteal Necklace, or keeping more of your gear after death as an artifact levels up. Each artifact has a challenge that can be completed for additional artifact loot, and upgrades raise artifacts from their starting level, with a heavy upgrade capable of taking one straight to its maximum level. A new villager, the Artifact Smith, trades rotating daily selections of useful items and exchanges duplicate artifacts for emeralds; its dungeon-map trade leads to a difficult endgame artifact dungeon. At the Artifact Cauldron, players can craft artifacts using templates, compounds, and the correct relic, with randomly generated recipes discovered through exploration; they can also dismantle duplicates for materials and use artifact blend, optionally with essence, to recycle them and influence the rarity of the resulting loot.
