CRYPTID is a horror survival datapack that turns a Minecraft world into a hostile, uncanny environment, with a grim Doom-inspired aesthetic, creepy ambience, and a required companion resource pack for its models and screen effects. Its world is populated by dozens of cryptids and frequent events, with threats appearing across the surface, underground, underwater, and even in the air; examples include block-mimicking spiders, the burrowing Lesser Bone Worm, the stalking Monmouth, and the flying Whale, which can signal that another event is coming. Cryptids behave in distinct ways and can alter or corrupt terrain: Living Obelisks move and spread flesh blocks at night, trees summon other entities, and Mimics wait until they are not being watched before attacking. The central Harmony system responds to danger and player behavior, affecting how often cryptids and events appear; staying away from Hearts and entities can reduce activity, while approaching or confronting them increases the risk. A Dilapidated Radio is the main survival aid, reporting Harmony and its rate of change, paranormal activity, nearby cryptid identities and classes, and the distance to a Heart, although some entities can temporarily disrupt its signal. Players have limited lives, with the default starting allotment set to five and recovery tied to Harmony, so survival depends on learning the warnings and hidden clues found in the radio, advancements, and messages. Exploration and crafting support progression through unique utility items and weapons, including Bloodsteal Shotguns, while recipes may have to be discovered on damaged scraps of paper and lore is scattered through achievements, notes, chat, and rare events.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
Not checked yet
Its author does not let other sites download its files from CurseForge, so we cannot check them.
Why we show this: a data pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A data pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in it yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
