True Survival is a datapack that reshapes Minecraft survival to make healing, hunger, lighting, difficulty, and progression more consequential while preserving the familiar style of play. Its healing system replaces natural regeneration: campfires can heal nearby players at a hunger cost, while ambient healing depends on sufficient light and hunger, and the lighting system develops in tiers that help players defend their territory. Combat changes give hostile mobs more strategic behaviors, including hunger-taxing zombie bites and tougher enemies in the deepslate layer, alongside major boss reworks such as a staged Ender Dragon fight. Progression also changes how players obtain key materials and reach the End: mining stone or deepslate can yield small amounts of iron, emeralds become part of the cost of endgame items, and dimension-specific Nomads offer exploration-focused trades. New systems encourage varied play, from daylong food cravings that reward players for eating a range of foods to heartbeet-fed pigs that grow larger and produce Hearty Pork. Players can craft custom items at the Artisan's Workbench, passively gather resources with Fishtraps, and collect themed loot bundles from spawners, including decorated shields tied to structures such as mineshafts, mansions, and strongholds. The Nether gains the Soul Well, where throwing a poppy into its basin summons a Skull Sprite, while players can also encounter new professions by converting vindicators and evokers into villagers. An in-game Dev Diary provides abbreviated guidance and lets players configure selected features, and the optional resource pack supplies custom textures without being required for gameplay.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Runs 222 function files: 1 every game tick and 1 when the pack loads. Its commands can place or replace blocks, remove entities, items or data and change game or server settings.
Changes world generation: structures.
Adds 26 recipes, 66 advancements, 175 loot tables, 61 tags, 1 recipe file, 31 predicates and 5 item modifiers.
Replaces 73 of vanilla Minecraft's loot tables, 14 recipes and 1 structure.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a data pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A data pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
