Universal Font Tester is a datapack for previewing and checking Minecraft fonts in-game, helping resource-pack creators, interface designers, and other players assess character coverage, spacing, and readability without external tools. Its previews cover Basic and Extended Latin, numbers and punctuation, Greek and Cyrillic alphabets, symbols, arrows, mathematical operators, and tests for character width and spacing. Interface-focused samples include buttons, HUD labels, counters, timers, and other text, and a full-preview option runs the available tests in sequence. A context lab displays the same sample glyphs in chat, action bars, titles, bossbars, scoreboard sidebars, signs, and item names so users can compare how text renders across these environments. The datapack also provides a clickable in-game help menu and diagnostics for its compatibility profile and active components; it displays text for testing rather than modifying fonts, whose appearance depends on the enabled resource pack.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Runs 62 function files: 1 every game tick and 1 when the pack loads. Its commands can place or replace blocks.
Does not change world generation.
Adds 2 tags and 2 more files in other folders.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's recipes, loot tables and other game data.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a data pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A data pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

Modpacks that include Universal Font Tester in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
