    About

    Fishing 101 expands fishing with 27 new fish types among 62 items, adding aquatic life as items rather than entities. Catches are tied to habitat and conditions: examples include catfish in swamps, anglerfish in the Deep Dark, luminous carp at night, solarfish around noon, and thunderfin during thunderstorms. Fish have different rarities and food properties, and some provide special effects when eaten; the Divine Catfish, for example, grants the Ascension effect. The mod also adds food and crafting ingredients, including rice, shrimp, tentacles, fish bones, dough, noodles, sushi, and seafood pasta; most fish can be cooked, while exceptions include jellyfish, starfish, and thunderfin. Two in-game guidebooks, the Fisherman's Journal and Johnny's Cook Book, introduce fish locations and food recipes, and the collection also includes two armor trims. Players can charge a Thunderfin by placing it between two copper blocks in a smithing table, and modded fish can interact with dolphins, cats, ocelots, and wolves for taming, breeding, and healing.
