    About

    Gems & Jewels expands mining, treasure hunting, and equipment crafting with mineable gemstones, gem-themed treasures, and new ways to use gems alongside vanilla diamonds and emeralds. Its gem ores can be distributed across biomes, with examples including ruby, sapphire, topaz, opal, garnet, citrine, and aquamarine; gems can also be found in the Nether and treasure chests, and world generation is configurable. Gem-set rings upgrade swords, pickaxes, axes, shovels, hoes, bows, crossbows, and enchanted books, adding stat bonuses and tracked records such as kills, ores mined, blocks dug, crops harvested, or shots fired. Upgraded tools gain experience through use, unlock perks as they level, and earn titles; their perks can be rerolled with a Runestone, while Luck can trigger powerful strikes that deal extra damage, restore durability, and yield experience from hits or mined blocks. Gemstones add trading options: players can change the gems villagers accept as currency, use rings to improve villager relationships and lower trade costs, and exchange gemstones with wandering traders for emeralds, with some gems valued more highly than others. Craftable crowns let players claim unclaimed villagers and collect taxes from them every eight days, while crowns also provide damage resistance in the biome where they were made. Keys used on mob spawners summon treasure-burdened enemies that may call reinforcements or become enraged when attacked, and can drop extra loot, including distinctive weapons and armor. Enchanted rings found in structures such as dungeons, desert pyramids, jungle temples, and buried treasure can be consumed for magical effects or, with Curios installed, worn to maintain an effect at the cost of durability and potentially experience.
