    About

    IV Scanner adds a craftable handheld device to Cobblemon for finding nearby wild Pokémon with a chosen number of perfect IVs and assessing their potential before a catch. As you approach a target, the scanner’s antenna blinks faster and an optional beep speeds up; Pokémon you already own are ignored during detection, though the HUD can be used to inspect owned Pokémon as well as wild ones. The HUD presents ratings through colors and visual cues rather than raw numbers: stars indicate the number of perfect IVs, while separate ratings describe overall IV quality and how evenly the IVs are distributed. It also evaluates current competitive viability from IVs alone, without considering abilities, moves, or species, and estimates future potential by factoring in the cost of improving bad IVs with IV candies or bottle caps.
