An anticheat that helps server owners catch cheating players.
70.1 of the 71 points that apply = 99 out of 100. The points above are rounded to whole numbers.
Lightning Grim Anticheat is a server-side anti-cheat fork of GrimAC, intended to detect cheating through more performant checks, with particular improvements to reach, block placement, and player interactions. Its checks cover movement, reach, knockback, falling, movement speed, scaffold and other block placement, inventory interactions, packet order, and attempts to hit entities or place blocks through walls or other entities. To evaluate movement, it simulates the player's possible actions, including walking, swimming, knockback, cobwebs, bubble columns, and riding boats, pigs, or striders, while accounting for collision shapes and differences between client and server versions. It maintains a separate replica of the world for each player and compensates for latency in world changes, movement, and inventory state, helping its checks handle delayed updates and packet-based fake blocks. Its asynchronous, multithreaded design is intended to handle large player populations, with movement checks and most listeners running on the network thread. Server staff can review violations and player session history, configure check categories and violation-triggered commands, and send alerts through in-game tools or Discord webhooks.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 7 areas, as a library other mods build on: Networking and multiplayerChanges 5 game code files in this area: connections, the server list and what is sent between your game and a server., Server and world logicChanges 5 game code files in this area: the world, commands, scoreboards, saved data and game rules., PlayerChanges 4 game code files in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls., Chunk loading and storageChanges 2 game code files in this area: how the game loads, tracks, saves and unloads chunks., Mobs and their behaviorChanges 2 game code files in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act., Blocks and fluidsChanges 2 game code files in this area: how blocks, fluids and redstone work. and Other game codeChanges 4 game code files in this area: game code that is not in one of the areas above..
Libraries packed inside it change 7 more game code files: PacketEvents dependency for 1.14+, Cloud, PacketEvents dependency for 1.19+ compiled against 1.19.4 and 1 more.
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
Sends usage statistics and unknown data
Sent to bstats.org, paste.grim.ac and an address built while the game runs.
Only some of its files send unknown data.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used to make it
The author writes that AI was used.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
