    Mimic 1.8 brings selected visual content from Minecraft 1.8 into the game, focusing on blocks and items rather than its larger gameplay features. Its additions include prismarine content, red sandstone, granite, a slime block, and wooden fence gates; the new stone is crafted with quartz instead of generating naturally. Prismarine crafting uses lapis and, for some recipes, glowstone, while recipes and block hardness are intended to match their originals. The mod also adds mutton drops from sheep and optional trades for pumpkins, melon blocks, potatoes, carrots, rotten flesh, and raw chicken through existing villagers, without adding new villager professions. Content can be controlled through the configuration file, and some behavior is not an exact recreation: for example, slime blocks do not interact with pistons or bounce entities in the same way.
