    New Mountains adds seven mountain and hill biomes to Minecraft, including Snowy Mountains, desert Dunes, Flooded Mesa, Taiga Peaks, Lush Mountains, Jungle Mountains, and Snowy Taiga Peaks. Snowy Mountains rise in snowy regions and reward discovery with an advancement; they can also generate an abandoned Snowy Outpost containing loot. The desert Dunes feature giant hills, while the Lush Mountains are tree-filled and the Jungle Mountains bring jungle-like features such as parrots and pandas to mountainous terrain. Taiga Peaks can generate a Taiga Cabin with loot, and Snowy Taiga Peaks have a slightly altered structure modeled on that cabin. Flooded Mesa is described as an unintended biome resulting from a bug, rather than a developed feature.
