A spreading infection corrupts the land and turns creatures hostile.

Nexus Infection turns the Overworld into a spreading hostile ecosystem, beginning with Visitors that may appear at night after you place a bed and summon Infectors, which can create Nexus Tumors. Living Tumors corrupt terrain into Dead Nexus, where Red Cacti, Nexus Roots, Mind Saplings and Nexus Meat can grow; nearby infected areas bring red fog, and Mind Saplings mature into large Mind Trees. As the infection develops, Tumors can leave underground Nexus Hives, after which Dead Nexus spreads into Coarse and produces features such as Coarse Spikes, Radiant Mushrooms, Nexus Acid and Nericin Tentacles. The infection also creates a wide range of hostile creatures, including fast Wreckeds, night-hunting Haremares, infected animals such as Hogs and Ramuses, and special threats such as Blasters, Acid Stalkers and Heartlens. Exploration can lead to Overgrown Castles in savannas and swamps, where a suspicious villager encounter triggers the Deceiver boss, and Infected Outposts in village biomes, guarded by Blasters and stocked with ranged Blaster Crossbows. Hives provide materials and encounters of their own: Grand Hives contain a Hive Root that can be used to summon the Torment Root, while Heartlens and Nexium Cores also appear in the hive variants. The Deceiver can be beaten by breaking nearby Nexus Blobs, while the infection’s central boss sequence pits players against a Humanoid Nexadar that transforms into the larger Nexadar; the latter’s defeat shuts down the infection’s spawning and terrain spread. Players can craft tools to manage or exploit the outbreak, including a redstone-activated Visceral Cleaner that slowly removes infected terrain, a Nexus Alarm that detects nearby infected mobs, Nexium Marks that suppress local spread, and Nexium Hexas for infecting mobs. The Nexus Amulet supports several interactions with infected creatures and blocks, and a Reborn Blob can reactivate the infection after it has been shut down.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 211 blocks, 73 items, 32 mobs, 7 other entities, 3 biomes, 5 structures, 1 painting, 124 recipes, 13 advancements, 25 loot tables and 102 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
Modpacks that include Nexus Infection in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 1 release needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
