About
Parrot's Cage adds care and friendship mechanics that give Minecraft parrots ongoing needs and activities, alongside new cages and sounds. Each parrot has a Friendship stat that gradually declines; if it reaches zero, the parrot permanently loses its trust, but maintaining Friendship for a few days makes it a true friend whose Friendship no longer decays. Parrots have individual preferences for music, seeds or other food, and particular players, which affect how quickly activities restore Friendship; players can inspect these preferences, Friendship, and explored biomes by shift-right-clicking a parrot. Players can build Friendship by playing a parrot's favorite record on a nearby jukebox, offering seeds, and taking it to explore different biomes, while keeping it on a shoulder prevents Friendship from declining. The mod includes five cage types: Basic, Golden, Fancy, Modern, and Christmas; Basic cages can hang beneath a solid block or sit on the ground, Modern cages come in different colors, and Fancy and Modern cages provide storage compartments. Parrots can be placed in cages from a shoulder or while leashed, and breaking a cage keeps an untamed parrot inside for carrying while freeing a tamed parrot so its Friendship can be maintained. Cage materials and tools vary by design: Basic and Golden cages are broken with a pickaxe, Fancy and Modern cages with an axe, and Christmas cages with a pickaxe. The mod also limits how many parrots each player can tame.
