About
Ruby Obsession is a Loot++ addon that adds rubies and a range of ways to find, grow, craft, and use them. Ruby ore generates underground, more often than diamond ore and especially commonly in deserts and savannas, while ruby flowers appear in plains-like and forest-like biomes and provide seeds for growing ruby crops. Harvested crops yield ruby slivers, which can be crafted and smelted through several stages into rubies. Rubies can be made into tools and armour with roughly diamond-level attack strength but lower durability; a full ruby armour set protects against fire damage, though not lava. The addon also includes ruby apples and cake with golden-apple-like effects, using health boost instead of absorption, along with decorative blocks and redstone components. Ruby buttons and pressure plates stay activated twice as long as their stone counterparts; the pressure plate responds only to players and scales its output with the number standing on it. A ruby crafting table is decorative, while the ruby furnace smelts faster and uses fuel more efficiently than a regular furnace.
