SimpleTranslate is a client-side Minecraft mod that translates game text in real time using a language model or API configured by the player, with no fixed language pair; the server does not need to install it. It covers incoming and outgoing chat, item and hover tooltips, books, signs, scoreboards, the player list, boss bars, titles, actionbars, entity names, text displays, and whole-screen Minecraft interfaces. It can also translate mod interfaces, including Patchouli guides, FTB Quests, and Distant Horizons, while retaining interface structure such as book-page organization, category icons, task windows, and button layouts. Translations are rebound to the current component structure to preserve styling, layout, click events, dynamic values, and custom-font or resource-pack icons; dedicated tooltip paths handle hover content. Players can choose automatic or manual translation modes, set which text sources may provide historical context, save reference prompts for global, server, or single-player-world use, and manage local translations, terminology, blacklists, and request statistics. On Minecraft 1.21.4 and newer targets, dedicated Wynncraft support translates dialogue and actionbars while preserving their layout and glyph rendering, and is compatible with the Wynntils HUD.

Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
api.deepseek.com localhostSends text to an AI service
Sent to an address built while the game runs.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Its files for older Minecraft versions (1.12.2) also send unknown data.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
Can use AI in the game
Can send the text you write to DeepSeek (you provide your own key).
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
Modpacks that include simpletranslation in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 1 release needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
