SkinCraft is a client-side Fabric mod for creating, managing, and sharing Minecraft skins from within the game, without switching to a browser or separate editor. Its editor combines precise 2D pixel painting with a live 3D character preview that you can paint directly on, plus an eyedropper, AutoTone, undo and redo, and options to save or apply your finished skin. You can import skin files and manage your local collection in-game, or browse community uploads by name and category, preview them in 3D, and save or apply them; community results are paginated, and local skin features remain available if the community service is unreachable. SkinCraft also lets you share skins with a name, category, tags, and description, and choose from bundled capes including corrupted_grass, dull_creeper, golden_heart, and nillionth.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 3 areas: PlayerChanges 1 game code file in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls., Game coreChanges 1 game code file in this area: the main loop, lighting and other code the whole game uses. and Server and world logicChanges 1 game code file in this area: the world, commands, scoreboards, saved data and game rules..
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
Sends unknown data
Sent to an address built while the game runs.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code, text and assets
The author declares AI code, assets and text on Modrinth.
The author writes that AI was used.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
Modpacks that include SkinCraft in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 2 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
