The Broken Script: Additions is an addon for The Broken Script that expands its slow-building horror experience with its own events, entities, structures, items, and dimensions. Its entities range from a wisp that can teleport you and a spectator that watches from behind to Subjugate, which can drive you out of caves, while a black wire-like figure is best left alone. Events span unsettling chat messages and prompts that make you look behind you to attempts to obtain operator permissions in your world; the sun may also go bad on the 24th. The addon adds two dimensions, reached through particular circumstances: one after failing to enter day_b, and another after dying in a specific way, where you wander through seemingly endless nothingness. Its additional items include blocks that appear randomly in the world, discs that contain something other than music, and bread; the current selection of structures is limited, with some intended to be important to visit. The mod becomes more active the longer you play and can remember things you have done or events that occurred, storing memory files in your user directory. A configuration menu lets you disable parts of the addon, including entity spawns, structure spawns, and events. The project is described as beta and potentially unfinished or buggy, and warns that its effects can include crashes, world bans, damage to builds, and loud sounds.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 31 blocks, 39 items, 2 mobs, 27 other entities, 5 biomes, 4 dimensions, 42 structures, 1 enchantment, 6 advancements and 39 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
The author declares on Modrinth that this mod interacts with your system outside the game.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
Modpacks that include The Broken Script: Additions in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 1 release needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
