toNeko is a Minecraft mod centered on transforming players into nekos, with systems for AI interaction, inherited traits, catnip farming, and combat. Players can become nekos by charging a Neko Collector near cats until it produces a potion, while neko players build energy for abilities such as wall climbing, riding nearby creatures, and combat skills. Its genetics system models Mendelian inheritance across 11 gene loci, including traits affecting speed, size, attack, and resistance, as well as 15 personality traits; a Gene Editor can alter genes, and neko pairings pass them on to offspring. AI nekos support services including Google, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Groq, SiliconFlow, and local Ollama, and can do more than chat: they may initiate conversations, interact with one another, write diaries, give items, and perform actions such as following or embracing the player. Catnip is a farmable crop that can be harvested and made into sandwiches, and the mod also includes a dedicated Neko Aggregator crafting workbench with recipes viewable through EMI. Neko NPCs appear in the wild or can be spawned, with variants such as Adventurer, Ghost, Crystal, Fighting, and Maid nekos; each may have a different skin and interaction menu. The Mouflet Boss steals items and attacks while flying, and can be defeated or captured by a sufficiently strong player and ridden afterward. Other content includes craftable accessories such as neko ears, tails, and paws, alongside 17 achievements and combat tools including a rocket launcher, a nine-lives amulet, and a multi-tool powered by cat energy. Progression can come from interacting, fighting, and exploring; entering new biomes, fishing, and building a home also provide ways to gain neko levels.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
api.player2.gameSends text to an AI service and usage statistics
Sent to 127.0.0.1, api.player2.game, bstats.org and an address built while the game runs.
Only some of its files send text to an AI service and usage statistics.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
Can use AI in the game
Can send the text you write to Anthropic, DeepSeek and 6 more AI services (you provide your own key).
Only in some of its files.
We found this in its code, read without running it.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
Modpacks that include toNeko in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 13 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 5 points.
