A modpack that teaches you magic and technology as you play.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 2 graded mods, 1 is graded A or B, 0 C and 1 D to F. Its last update came out 4 months ago, for Minecraft 1.7.10. See the mods
This author published many projects at once on Modrinth: up to 7 projects published within 2 weeks. 6 of the author's 9 projects have only one release and no source code link. A series of small add-ons is often published this way. It does not change the grade.
The Lost Era is a modpack built to help players explore modded Minecraft without having to research every mod in advance, while letting them choose their own playstyle across magic, technology, and other content. Its 3,600-plus quests guide players through vanilla and modded content, with chapters that unlock gradually after the survival basics and progression trees that support different routes rather than a single linear path. The content spans magic such as Thaumcraft, Botania, Witchery, and Ars Magica, alongside technology including Applied Energistics 2, BuildCraft, Forestry, IndustrialCraft 2, and GregTech 4. Exploration and building are supported by expanded terrain and underground generation, with examples including Biomes O’ Plenty, Realistic Terrain Generation, Twilight Forest, and Ruins, as well as decorative and creative tools such as Bibliocraft, Chisel, and Tinkers’ Construct. Custom recipes, configurations, and ore-generation changes shape the balance between distinct playstyles, while food, shelter, and defense remain relevant and caves and dungeons bring more formidable dangers. The pack is designed for multiplayer, including groups with different gameplay preferences, and its performance tuning aims to keep its broad content accessible on lower-end computers.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.7.10 · Forge, 21 Jun 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 6 Dec 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked both mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of all 2 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI tool in the 2 mods we checked, and no AI content is declared for them on Modrinth.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and code history and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
