System 98 is a resource pack that reworks Minecraft’s interface with a visual style inspired by Windows 98. It gives interactive-block screens such as chests, crafting tables, and furnaces a classic window design, and redesigns interface controls including buttons, sliders, and scrollbars. The hotbar, health, hunger, and experience displays receive a retro-styled redesign, with the gallery also showing updated hotbar icons and the main title screen. Other updated screens include the recipe book, double-chest inventory, Book and Quill, villager trading, cartography, and enchantment interfaces. The pack is designed for vanilla Minecraft and does not require OptiFine or similar mods.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes 419 interface textures, the main menu background and the font.
Adds 1 language file.
Textures are mostly 22 by 22 pixels, up to 512 by 512.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a resource pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A resource pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files and images and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
