VanillaXBR is a resource pack that gives Minecraft textures a smoother, higher-definition look while preserving the familiar style and essential details of the originals, so the changes remain subtle from a distance. It uses the xBR pixel-art upscaling method, with textures iteratively upscaled, layered, and refined by hand rather than simply enlarged or AI-generated. The companion PackXBR tool can upscale vanilla-oriented resource packs to help their textures fit the VanillaXBR look.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes 1,012 block textures, 605 item textures, 523 mob and entity textures, 40 armor trim textures, 465 interface textures, 46 paintings, 228 particle textures and 127 other files.
Adds 1 block texture, 3 mob and entity textures and 5 interface textures. In OptiFine's formats: 36 connected textures. Also has files for 1 other mod: Raised.
Block textures are mostly 64 by 64 pixels. 49 block and item textures are animated.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a resource pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A resource pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
