A simple resource pack that cleanly highlights blocks that have been spawn-proofed by light sources. OPTIFINE NOT REQUIRED

Visible Light Levels is a resource pack that makes it easier to spot areas where light levels affect whether mobs can spawn, without relying on the F3 menu. It uses subtle overlays: faint white on blocks above light level 1, faint red where light is near zero, and faint black where there is no light, so the indicators can remain visible without dominating the scene. The overlays help show the reach of torches and other light sources, and the pack accounts for complex blocks such as stairs, partial blocks, pistons, cauldrons, and hoppers, while omitting non-spawnable blocks such as trapdoors, moss, and carpets. It also marks one-layer-deep snow, where mobs can spawn, making it useful for checking snow-covered terrain. The pack uses vanilla shaders and does not require OptiFine, though shader-altering mods may cause issues.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes 2 core shader files.
Has no files in OptiFine's formats or for other mods.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a resource pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A resource pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
