A VHS-style shader that makes scenes look like eerie found footage.

Lost Signal VHS is a lightweight post-processing shader that preserves Minecraft’s vanilla lighting while making the final image resemble unstable footage played through a damaged VHS deck, suited to Backrooms and Poolrooms maps, liminal spaces, horror scenes, machinima, and found-footage videos. Its presets include Backrooms, Poolrooms, Liminal Night, Found Footage, Rental Tape, Camcorder 1996, Broken Signal, and Analog Fog, with effects such as fluorescent color, humid haze, unstable exposure, tracking loss, tape noise, and damaged-camcorder motion. Analog fog is based on scene depth and enters the simulated signal before tape encoding; five palettes and controls for density, clear-start, falloff, and world-stable variation let players tune its appearance. The signal effects include NTSC/PAL interlaced field weaving, time-base errors, tracking tears, YIQ processing, chroma loss and phase errors, tape wear and interference, and frame-repeat stalls. Players can choose responses modeled on 1980s tube displays, 1990s VHS, or early-digital camcorders, optionally show a REC, battery, and timecode HUD, and select Performance, Balanced, or Cinematic quality.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes how the game looks: 6 shader programs, the dimensions are not stated in the pack.
Settings in English and Russian.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files.
Why we show this: a shader cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A shader has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files and images and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
