Nostalgia Ultra is a shader pack that recreates the look and atmosphere of Minecraft from Beta 1.7 through Release 1.5.2, rebuilt with modern lighting and shadow mapping. Its warm color grading, boosted greens and blues, and optional CRT scanlines, screen curvature, and edge color fringing evoke the displays of the era. Water is translucent turquoise, with animated waves, screen-space reflections, underwater caustics, shore foam, and a gradient from bright shallows to deep-ocean blue. The sky and lighting feature a large warm-haloed sun, dense visible stars, soft-edged shadows, volumetric godrays, orange torchlight, layered orange-to-purple sunrises and sunsets, and cool blue moonlight. The Nether uses oppressive blood-red fog, while the End has a cold, alien purple-black void with fixed stars. A configurable in-game menu lets players adjust or disable effects across style, water, sky, lighting, and visual-effects settings, including color grading, reflections, shadow quality, and CRT effects. The shader is designed for Iris and Sodium, works without a required resource pack, and is optimized for modern hardware, with settings to scale back effects on lower-end GPUs.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes how the game looks: 20 shader programs, for the Nether and the End. Draws its own shadows, water, sky and clouds.
Settings in 6 languages.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a shader cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A shader has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
