Solstice is a semi-realistic Minecraft shader pack designed to balance visual effects with smooth performance, offering adjustable settings and four profiles from Low to Ultra. Its lighting includes soft shadows that stay sharp near contact and broaden with distance, moving foliage, coloured-glass shadows, and underwater caustics. The sky and weather can feature blocky 3D or volumetric clouds with cloud shadows, a circular sun and moon, stars, meteors, the Milky Way, occasional auroras, and changing weather. Water gains reflections, ripples, underwater fog and god rays, while rain can leave puddles; glowing blocks, portal light, sparkling snow, and animated flames add further effects. Materials receive restrained highlights for vanilla metals and polished blocks, including held items, and a LabPBR 1.3 resource pack can provide fuller material detail and reflections. Bloom, FXAA, colour grading, optional sharpening, and contact shadows round out the image processing, with Survival, Balanced, and Builder lighting styles for different scene brightness. The profiles scale effects to performance: Low uses blocky clouds and basic shadows, Medium balances volumetric clouds, materials, bloom, puddles, and god rays, High adds SSAO and sharper shadows, and Ultra raises cloud and shadow quality. With Distant Horizons, Solstice also shades extended terrain and water in the Overworld, Nether, and End, including atmospheric fog and lighting that carry into distant vistas. As the player moves below the water surface, its optics, reflections, fog, and underwater effects transition gradually rather than switching abruptly, and distant water retains its glints.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes how the game looks: 49 shader programs, for the Nether and the End. Draws its own shadows, water, sky, clouds and weather.
Settings in English. Has programs for Distant Horizons.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a shader cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A shader has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

Modpacks that include Solstice in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
