New in Town: Dimensions expands the settler-focused New in Town story with four explorable dimensions, and can also be played as a standalone datapack; its fleet and mining operations require the base pack. Travel begins in the In Between, a realm of floating islands and portals that lead unpredictably to the Primordial Desert, Buried Ocean, or Tempest; each portal keeps its destination once discovered. The Primordial Desert is an ultrahot, hostile world with small Oasis biomes, lava-filled volcanic caves, and Piglin settlements guarded by Piglin Brutes, while silverfish and infested stone make mining dangerous. Its deep mines offer abundant diamonds and emeralds in volcanic zones, and the base-pack mining expansion lets players establish a lift, build functional shafts and drills, recover buried artifacts, and research their restoration. The Buried Ocean combines dark, flooded seas and caves populated by fish, squid, and dangerous Drowned with scattered landmasses and distinctive features such as Mushroom Forest structures, Pristine Sea plantlife, and the Boiling Sea’s diamond-studded ceiling. The Tempest is under perpetual rain, snow, and lightning, which keeps its Creepers charged and makes Phantoms grow unusually large; its Lightning Fields lift magnetite-bearing ores into the air, while other areas bring deep snowdrifts, hail, or haunting spirits above the forest canopy. Across the dimensions, naturally generating structures include Piglin settlements, Ancient Towers, and Illager strongholds, with story threads involving Illager experiments, Nazca Lines, and a locked Pharaoh’s Tomb. With the base New in Town pack installed, players can use the Fleet Manifest in the Buried Ocean to construct a Captain’s Ship and command a fleet, while the Excavation Lease starts the desert mining operation. Multiplayer is supported, with each player able to open one portal to the In Between and travel among the dimensions.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Runs 322 function files: 1 every game tick and 1 when the pack loads. Its commands can place or replace blocks, remove entities, items or data and change game or server settings.
Changes world generation: terrain shape, 25 biomes, decorations such as trees and ores, 21 structures and 4 dimensions.
Adds 42 advancements, 162 loot tables, 16 tags, 1 loot table file, 38 predicates, 1 item modifier and 198 more files in other folders.
Replaces 1 of vanilla Minecraft's loot tables.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a data pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A data pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
