    About

    Crystal Caves adds naturally spawning crystals of different sizes to caves and the Nether, where they glow with redstone-like light and yield crystal shards when broken. Shards can be crafted into crystal tools, which mine the same blocks as iron tools, work slightly faster than iron but slower than diamond, and combine gold-level enchantability with durability between iron and stone; making them with bones instead of sticks increases their durability to 150 uses more than iron tools. Smelting shards produces crystal glass and panes: the glass resists explosions as well as stone and drops itself when broken without Silk Touch. Crystal blocks provide a glowing storage form, while raw crystal can be harvested from large crystals with Silk Touch.
