    About

    Overly Realistic is a survival overhaul designed to make solo play difficult and slow progression, encouraging players to form groups, specialize, and cooperate. Its in-game advancement tree replaces vanilla advancements with guided milestones, while players manage temperature, thirst, sanity, stamina, hygiene, and vitality, and can train attributes that start out weak. Combat and healthcare are more involved: players can suffer limb-specific bleeding, fractures, infections, and illnesses, craft treatments, and face slower, conditional natural recovery. Food matters beyond filling hunger, since players need a mix of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, and growing hunger weakens them. Skill experience develops through actions in areas such as combat, blacksmithing, cooking, archery, and healthcare, but improving one skill can reduce others in its category, making specialization and teamwork valuable. Animals have predator or prey behavior, variable genetics and traits, and stamina; predators may flee from larger hunting parties, while fleeing animals can be run down and harvested for hides, meat, and bones. Resources are scarce: crops can be farmed only in certain biomes, and ores differ in quality according to where they are gathered, creating incentives for trade and cooperation between groups. The project also adds blocks, equipment, transportation, environmental features, and largely in-world recipes, with advancements guiding players through its expanded progression.
