Cheaper repairs and more ways to upgrade gear through smithing.

Simple Smithing Overhaul makes vanilla smithing a more useful and rewarding way to maintain gear and obtain stronger enchantments, with many changes configurable to suit a player's preferences. Repairs are streamlined so fully restoring an item generally costs the same amount of material as crafting it, missing vanilla repair recipes are added, and netherite gear uses diamonds for repairs; modded items can also be configured for repair. Broken gear is no longer destroyed: it remains unusable at zero durability until repaired, and its name turns red with a “Broken” prefix. Players can repair gear in the crafting menu using flint or whetstones, while enchanted items require an enchanted whetstone carrying all of their enchantments; Mending instead uses compatible whetstones and repair materials from the inventory rather than experience. Anvil and grindstone changes reduce repair friction: unenchanted repairs and renaming cost no XP levels, repairs do not add prior work penalty, expensive anvil actions are allowed, and netherite scrap in a grindstone halves an enchanted item's repair cost. Two rare templates add smithing-based enchantment progression: one, found in End City chests, raises a chosen enchantment by one level for XP, while one from Ancient City chests can push a fully enchanted item beyond the normal level cap, such as to Fortune IV or Looting IV. To make smithing more central to acquiring enchanted gear, the mod limits enchanting-table power and the strength of enchanted loot, while making enchanted books and experience bottles more common in loot; villager enchanted books are level one and their trades have limited uses between restocks. A vanilla-styled advancement tree offers 11 visible goals and two hidden advancements to discover.

Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

In the last 2 years, 16 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 4 points.
