A giant spider hunts you through your world and grows stronger.

The Skitter adds a giant procedural spider that hunts players as a persistent predator, adapting and growing by hunting mobs. Its body is assembled from Block Displays, with articulated procedural legs, speed-matched walking and galloping, spring-driven body motion, and terrain-tilting movement. The spider progresses through five growth phases, starting at about three blocks tall and reaching over eleven blocks; each phase increases its health, damage, detection range, attack reach, and speed. It stalks and tracks players, remembers those who have attacked it, and also hunts nearby hostile and passive mobs, capturing prey in webs and pulling them close to eat and grow. Against players, it uses heavy melee strikes, can grab them in its jaws, and may inflict poison; players caught in a grab can escape by landing three hits. From its third phase, it can mine through walls, floors, and ceilings, leap at nearby players, and pull distant players down with webs; its powerful jumps may also destroy blocks if that option is enabled. Its pursuit includes unsettling behaviors such as freezing when spotted, stalking, feinting charges, searching a target’s last known position, retreating, and using sound cues while tracking. When reduced to 10% health, it may flee underground, disappear temporarily, then return at full health about 30 seconds later; defeating it in its final phase triggers a cobweb burst and spawns three to five venomous spiderlings that can climb walls. The mod supports multiplayer hunts and provides commands to summon, remove, direct, inspect, and adjust the spider.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its images
OpenAI gpt-image is named in the images in its files.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
