About
Varied Adventure expands exploration and combat with stronger-than-vanilla creatures, new structures, and two bosses, giving players reasons to seek out different biomes and dungeons. Its creatures include the neutral Sea Monster in frozen oceans, Saurians in temperate fields and forests, Frostwings in snowy biomes, and Drulls underground, alongside threats such as the poison-inflicting Toadman in swamp catacombs and Cursed Knights in the Cursed Tower. The Cursed Tower and the swamp’s catacomb and ruins structures tie exploration to boss encounters: players summon the Nightmarish Observer at an altar using a heart found atop the tower, and awaken the Basilisk with a snake caller found in the catacombs. A further boss, the Patron of Animals, is summoned by killing a vanilla animal on an altar at night and waiting a few seconds. New equipment includes the poison-immunity elixir, a mysterious dagger that can inflict a cursed wound, sea-monster-tooth tools, the Drull Scythe, and Soul Light, which grants regeneration when held in the off-hand while killing a creature. Copperolite tools and armor offer diamond-like strength with lower durability, while scale armor is stronger than netherite and unbreakable; visiting several biomes is necessary to gather the materials for the scale armor. The mod also adds totems with temporary strength and haste or extra health, and changes the recipe for the Totem of Undying to require mysterious crystals, totem shards, gold ingots, and ambers.
