Improves early game by increasing time to reach iron age using prehistoric technology.
50.5 of the 71 points that apply = 71 out of 100. The points above are rounded to whole numbers.
YTech slows the rush to iron by making the opening game a prehistoric progression through the Stone Age and Bronze Age, ending at the start of the Iron Age when you craft your first iron ingot. Early survival requires suitable tools even to mine wood or dirt: players begin by finding flint, striking stone to make tools, gathering grass fibers, and seeking antlered deer for materials used in their first pickaxe. Vanilla livestock are replaced by aurochs, fowl, wild boars, and mouflon, which can be bred over generations into cows, chickens, pigs, and sheep; other wildlife includes deer, saber-toothed tigers, terror birds, woolly mammoths, and woolly rhinos. The mod adds craftable tools and materials such as sharp flint, knives, hammers, saws, molds, and meshes, along with processes including chopping, hammering, milling, pottery, drying, and tanning raw hides. Primitive Smelters and Primitive Alloy Smelters start at 900°C and gain 50°C per chimney, enabling increasingly demanding smelting and alloying as players build toward copper, bronze, iron bloom, and eventually an iron ingot. Other distinctive equipment includes a Millstone powered by a leashed mob, a Strainer that passively collects different loot from flowing water, and a Potter’s Wheel for shaping clay. Water and farming also work differently: water sources can be finite, crops need hydrated farmland, and aqueducts store and transport water while supporting soil hydration and fertilization. Each age has its own advancement tree, giving the long early-game progression milestones along the way to iron.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

Modpacks that include YTech in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 5 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 2 points.
