A survival modpack with harsher seasons, monster raids, and crafting.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 207 graded mods, 146 are graded A or B, 40 C and 21 D to F. Its last update came out 15 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Vintage Wilds is a vanilla-leaning survival modpack inspired by Vintage Story and TerraFirmaCraft, aiming for a challenging but fair experience that is harsh to survive yet comfortable to settle into. Progression moves through distinct Ages, beginning with flint tools rather than wooden or stone tools and unlocking the conventional crafting table and customized recipes later on; quests guide players through each Age. Early crafting emphasizes working in the world: players shape clay into pottery, fire bricks for a first furnace, and use a Crafting Workspace and Primitive Crafting Table instead of relying on a traditional crafting table. Metalworking involves smelting metal at the right temperature, pouring it into molds for ingots and tool parts, then shaping tools at a forge; hot items can burn, and water can cool them. Farming requires managing finite water as farmland dries, with aqueducts available for irrigation, while Farmer’s Delight cabinets help preserve food. Temperature, thirst, seasons, and localized weather shape survival, affecting farming and comfort; hostile conditions are tougher in rough environments, while most hostile mobs stay off the surface at night until winter brings them out. Build with defenses in mind: waves of monsters arrive roughly weekly, grow harder over time, and may break certain blocks to reach a base. Animals may defend themselves, predators are hostile, and modded food and drinks are integrated into managing survival needs.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 9 Aug 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 8 Aug 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 203 of its 210 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 197 of its 203 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 19 of the 167 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
36 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
