A modpack that aims to turn Minecraft into a found footage game.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 9 graded mods, 9 are graded A or B, 0 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 7 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Backrooms Found Footage is a modpack designed to turn Minecraft into a found-footage-style horror experience, with custom shaders and camera effects shaping its presentation. After suffocating for long enough, players can noclip into the Backrooms and must travel through five environments to escape: Level 0, the Habitable Zone, Pipe Dreams, the Poolrooms, and the Infinite Grass Field. The included content also features a skinwalker, which can take a target’s skin; in singleplayer it does not spawn naturally, but a command can summon it using a target’s skin.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Fabric, 9 Apr 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 10 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of all 8 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI tool in the 8 mods we checked, and no AI content is declared for them on Modrinth.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
