Explore eerie Backrooms spaces in an analog horror adventure.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 5 graded mods, 5 are graded A or B, 0 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 18 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Found Footage (Fanmade) is a lightweight modpack that brings together existing mods for an analog-horror experience inspired by the Backrooms, focused on eerie liminal exploration and atmosphere. Its centerpiece, the Found Footage mod, takes players through looping, surreal environments, while Simple Voice Chat adds proximity-based voice communication for multiplayer. The Backrooms transition has a specific trigger: players must die from non-liquid suffocation, such as being trapped by sand or gravel; drowning does not trigger it. For events and roleplay, commands can summon a skinwalker that assumes a target’s identity, release a player from its control, trigger a Backrooms event, or restore an inventory saved before entry. The pack is intended for solo exploration, small-group play, horror roleplay, and filmed or scripted scenarios, and includes Essentials and Sound Physics Remastered for smoother connections and added immersion.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Fabric, 20 Apr 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 20 Apr 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked all 5 mods, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of all 5 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI tool in the 5 mods we checked, and no AI content is declared for them on Modrinth.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
