    About

    ConRad's Scary Spiders adds predatory spiders, a boss, dungeons, weapons, and gadgets to make the Overworld a more threatening place to explore and fight. Its six spider types include camouflaged hunters that can hide across Overworld biomes, venomous spiders that create poisonous clouds, catcher spiders that seize creatures for their nearby mother, phasing spiders that turn invisible, and cave-dwelling leaching spiders that cling to a player's face to feed. The Mother Scary Spider is a difficult boss that produces offspring by killing other entities, fires missiles, and spits webs that can trap players; defeating her can yield netherite scrap without requiring a trip to the Nether. Two kinds of spider nest, large and small, offer loot such as enchanted books and emeralds stolen from villagers, while kidnapped villagers trapped in webs can be freed, though nearby spiders may quickly eat them. The mod adds a Cobweb Gun that fires webs, a Venom Gun, infrared Spider Goggles for spotting hidden mobs, and animated Spider Exoskeleton armor: the chestplate grants haste and jump boost while enabling wall climbing and sliding, and the helmet lets players pick up villagers and animals. Spider meat is poisonous raw but grants speed and jump boost when cooked.
