Haunted forests bring strange lights, ghosts, and dangers after dark.

Creeping Woods turns forests into a nighttime horror experience, adding unsettling phenomena, dangerous creatures, eerie sounds, flashlights, and structures tied to its lore and hidden easter eggs inspired by real-life events. Its encounters include Quick Lights that streak through the trees and can disrupt flashlights, distant watchers such as Glowing Eyes and Ghost Players, and threats such as the wall-climbing Corpse Spider, animated statues, Cursed Goats, and the stalking Creature from the Woods. The Creature from the Woods can watch from a distance or hang from trees, then turn invisible and reappear when confronted; it may pursue and attack, climb, break blocks, and freeze nearby water, but disappears at dawn. Other encounters add distinct ways to respond: statues freeze when watched and can only be attacked with a pickaxe, while the hostile Figure hunts players who look at it and disappears on contact with water. The mod also features human NPCs based on its inspirations: Samuel and Max wander the woods, avoid danger, and seek out phenomena, while the rarer Mirco and the brothers Jogoi and Louis have their own interactions and rewards. Players can find forest structures including a firewatch tower, church, and graveyards, as well as dead bodies and camera-related discoveries. Its content affects Forest, Flower Forest, Birch Forest, Dark Oak Forest, Taiga, Snowy Taiga, and Giant Spruce Taiga biomes.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 15 blocks, 45 items, 27 mobs, 5 other entities, 24 structures, 1 recipe, 14 advancements and 31 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
