Investigate a haunted redwood forest in a story-driven horror adventure.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 98 graded mods, 74 are graded A or B, 18 C and 6 D to F. Its last update came out 2 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.19.2. See the mods
The Cursed Redwood Forest is a story-driven horror modpack in which you play a ranger investigating strange sightings and documenting anomalies in a fog-choked forest. Its main narrative unfolds over 30 days, with quests leading into cursed ruins and unsettling encounters as clues reveal a darker truth and your grip on reality begins to fray. Psychological threats include mimicry, isolation, paranoia, suspicious voices and moving figures, so not every danger can be fought or trusted. Survival depends on managing limited resources through dangerous nights, finding places to shelter, and deciding when to hide rather than fight. You can reinforce shelters and craft traps, using redstone or technology to buy time against threats that come after dark. The world features seemingly endless redwoods, caves to explore, oppressive darkness, fog, and atmospheric sound and shader-enhanced visuals. Optional ranger missions, a field recorder, interactive books, radio transmissions and unsettling chat messages add ways to investigate and encounter the story beyond its automatically progressing main plot. The pack is suited to solo roleplay or multiplayer survival.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.19.2 · Forge, 10 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 8 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 98 of its 101 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 93 of its 96 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 3 of the 81 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
4 other mods show AI use only from after this release (10 Oct 2026), so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
15 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
