    About

    Flimsy Torches adds limited-lifetime lighting to Minecraft by replacing most regular torches with flimsy torches that pass through four burn states before going out; a small chance of torches remaining unchanged is configurable. Burnt-out torch scraps can be salvaged for some coal, and regular torches can be crafted again using a flimsy torch and magma cream. Empty flimsy lanterns can be crafted from iron nuggets and lit with a flimsy torch, which lasts 50% longer inside a lantern. Villagers occasionally seek out nearby torches to replace, prioritizing burnt-out torches over smoldering ones; settings control how often they do this and which torch states they replace. Flimsy campfires burn through five states and can be refueled with logs or planks; at their brightest, they may spread fire to nearby blocks, and custom fuels and fire-spread behavior can be configured. Configuration also allows adjustment of burn durations for each torch state and the chance that torches remain unchanged, as well as support for replacing other mods’ custom torches with flimsy versions.
