    About

    Serene Seasons adds an evolving seasonal cycle that changes the look and conditions of the world, giving players a reason to adapt farming and building to the time of year. Temperate biomes pass through spring, summer, autumn, and winter, with shifting grass and foliage colors, temperatures, precipitation, and storm patterns; winter cold can bring snow to biomes that do not normally receive it. Tropical biomes such as deserts, jungles, and savannas instead alternate between wet and dry seasons: the wet season brings lush foliage and can bring rain to normally dry places, while the dry season yellows vegetation and suppresses rain partway through. Crop fertility follows the seasons, so crops that are in season grow normally while out-of-season crops grow very slowly; players can keep them growing with glass overhead, vanilla bees, or suitable underground farms. A Calendar shows the current season and its early, middle, or late phase, while a configurable Season Sensor can detect a chosen season and emit a redstone signal whose strength increases as that season progresses. The season cycle lasts 96 in-game days by default, and configuration settings can adjust its timing and aspects of seasonal crop growth.
