    About

    Gems and Crystals expands vanilla progression with new gemstones, biome-specific ore generation, quartz growth, and matching equipment. It adds ruby, sapphire, topaz, amethyst, and an Overworld quartz variant, with ores distributed to reward exploration: rubies are rare and deep underground, sapphires favor cold and snowy regions, topaz appears in warm biomes, amethyst is more common in dark cave systems, and quartz is more common in mountainous terrain. Quartz geodes contain budding quartz, small, medium, and large buds, and quartz clusters, providing renewable decorative blocks that can be harvested normally. The mod provides ruby, sapphire, emerald, topaz, amethyst, and quartz tools and armor, along with matching horse armor for each material. Their equipment offers different progression options, from early-game quartz and around-iron amethyst to mid-game topaz, utility-focused emerald, near-diamond sapphire, and high-tier ruby, rather than simply replacing vanilla gear with strict upgrades.
