About
Handcrafted Elytra adds an early-game elytra crafted from string, leather, sticks, and phantom membranes, with an advancement for making it and enchantability at an enchanting table. The handcrafted elytra has one-quarter the durability of a vanilla elytra and configurable flight and damage rules, including limits on flying in rain or taking off from water, extra fall damage, and hazards from rockets or high-altitude flight. A configurable phantom-membrane particle trail accompanies flight, and players can optionally use the jump key to stop flying mid-flight with either elytra. The mod also adds dyeing for handcrafted-elytra straps and vanilla-elytra wings: smithing tables offer 16 preset colors, while crafting-table dyeing allows custom color combinations, and water bottles in a smithing table remove dye. Its settings let players disable features or adjust values, and the full texture and dyeing features are available in versions 1.21.5 and newer.
