    About

    Immersive Enchanting replaces Minecraft’s standard enchanting interface with a skill tree, turning enchantment into a progression system rather than a chance-based selection. Players unlock branches by finding Ancient Books in world loot and placing them in chiseled bookshelves around the enchanting table; they then work up each branch from lower to higher enchantment levels. Enchanting uses item materials instead of XP levels, with costs that vary by enchantment and level, while anvil repair costs for enchanted gear are reduced. Enchanted books and Mending are unavailable by default, though Mending can be enabled through configuration, and the mod provides options for enchanted-book loot and villager trades. The table supports enchantments from other mods, with filters to browse enchantments by mod; modpack creators can customize enchantment costs and Ancient Book loot through datapacks. The datapack system also allows creators to configure costs using individual items, item lists, tags, and item data, and to set where Ancient Books appear in loot.
