A modern survival challenge with dangerous creatures, quests, and brutal nights.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 439 graded mods, 317 are graded A or B, 100 C and 22 D to F. Its last update came out 9 days ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Restless Horizons is a player-focused reworking of RLCraft that brings its survival challenges into a modern fantasy world, with guided quests and a rebalanced crafting and progression system. Survival combines locational health, temperature, thirst, leveling, dangerous nights, and custom moon events; difficulty settings adjust enemy danger and, at the highest level, disable the map and minimap. The world includes contested villages, modernized battle towers, and lost cities in the Undergarden, where Macabre creatures guard loot used for endgame equipment. Endgame progression is tied to the Undergarden: dark metal armor and later gear require it, while the Apothecary Table and Dragonforge serve as crafting stations for advanced equipment. The End has been flooded with dangerous aquatic mobs and mounts-rewarding challenges, and includes the Abyssal Chasm and the Leviathan’s structure; the Sunken City has also been moved there. Combat features more than 30 custom Lycanites-style creatures, custom blights, and exclusive bosses such as Chimera and Vinctus, alongside reworked bosses and enemy encounters that grow more threatening with difficulty. Weapons, armor, and baubles have distinctive roles: armor set bonuses can grant effects on hit, while some sets specialize in summoning, spellcasting, frost or fire resistance, or powerful ranged combat. Magic requires preparation: players find rarity orbs and individual spell manuscripts to unlock spells, while slow mana regeneration makes potions and mage-focused equipment useful. Quests guide progression through updated chapters and bounties, and fishing rewards exploration with rare finds that can depend on the time or weather.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20 · Forge, 15 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 9 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 431 of its 444 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
11 mods send something about you
We read the code of 404 of its 419 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 21 of the 318 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
101 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
