Magic Realms is an Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks addon that adds hireable spellcasting companions and other magical creatures to the world. Mercenaries can be found at taverns in plains biomes, where the Tavernkeeper sells hiring contracts, food and drink, maps to Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks structures, and passes for sleeping in a tavern bed. They have distinct combat roles: Mages cast spells, Warriors and Tanks fight in melee, Archers attack with bows, and Assassins are nimble skirmishers; compatible gunslinger mercenaries can also appear when Iron’s Arms & Artifices is installed. After hiring a mercenary, you can change their equipment, inspect their combat stats and inventory, and order them to follow or patrol; mercenaries also chat and behave according to generated personalities, hobbies, and quirks. Rather than simply gaining levels, mercenaries earn permanent titles through their deeds, such as defeating particular enemies or exploring, with rewards that can improve attributes or grant other conditional combat benefits. The mod also adds Chuchu slimes that absorb magic and take on a school, spellcasting Fizzles in place of ordinary exploding creepers, Endermages that teleport around the Outer End Islands, and the mysterious undead Tim. Taverns can incorporate blocks and items from supported mods, while spell compatibility lets mercenaries use spells from addons including Tunes ’n Tomes: a Bard’s Journey; datapacks can extend spell lists and customize many mercenary details.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 2 areas: User interfaceChanges 1 game code file in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay. and Mobs and their behaviorChanges 1 game code file in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act..
Adds 2 blocks, 25 items, 5 mobs, 1 projectile, 8 other entities, 1 structure, 3 recipes, 8 loot tables, 5 sounds and 2 key bindings.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
Modpacks that include Magic Realms in at least one of their versions, most downloaded first.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 4 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 6 points.
