About
Mapwriter 2 is a client-side mapping mod that provides a minimap for both singleplayer and multiplayer without requiring the server to install it. It records explored areas so you can revisit them on the map later, and offers a full-screen map with mouse controls for panning and zooming, plus waypoints placed by right-clicking. The minimap can rotate or use a circular display, and an underground map mode provides another view of the surrounding world. Map colours are generated from block textures, can be configured, and account for mod-added blocks and biomes; custom texture packs are also supported. You can export the entire map as a PNG, and in the Nether the minimap indicates your corresponding effective location in the Overworld to help with portal placement.
