    About

    MeteorCraft adds periodic meteor impacts as a renewable, if uncommon, source of ores, including ores from loaded mods, so players can find them without generating new chunks. Meteors leave craters containing a mix of ore and filler blocks, with stone meteors carrying ores such as iron, redstone, Certus Quartz, and tin; netherrack meteors carrying Nether Quartz and Ardite; and end stone meteors carrying Pitchblende and Olivine. They also contain small amounts of glowstone dust and gunpowder, and the configuration lets players adjust the ore proportion and choose which registered mod ores may appear. Impacts occur about once an hour by default, and rare meteor showers sharply increase the frequency for 30 seconds to five minutes; shower meteors explode in the air. Protection settings can prevent damage globally, in selected biomes, or below a chosen height, where meteors instead burst harmlessly in midair and scatter about 60 percent of their blocks. The mod also adds a three-tier Meteor Defence Gun that automatically protects an area from impacts, with higher tiers covering larger areas, and a Meteor Radar that reports nearby meteor spawns and impacts. When RotaryCraft is installed, these two blocks are cheaper to craft but require RotaryCraft power.
