About
Ore Sheep turns ordinary sheep into renewable sources of ore, adding a way to grow and harvest ores through animal care rather than mining alone. Weaken a sheep with a splash potion of weakness and feed it diamonds to convert it; ore sheep then eat blocks such as stone, cobblestone, gravel, netherrack, and regular ores, and grow the ore they eat in place of wool. Harvest a grown ore by right-clicking the sheep with the appropriate pickaxe, and breed two ore sheep with a stone-related block to get a baby that inherits one parent’s ore. The OreConfig file lets players choose which blocks sheep can eat and which ones they can become, extending the system to many other blocks, including blocks added by mods; bedrock is specifically excluded. In creative mode, players can assign a sheep an ore by right-clicking it with that ore, and use bonemeal to regrow its ore or age a baby sheep.
