A horror survival pack filled with monsters and dangerous nights.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 25 graded mods, 9 are graded A or B, 6 C and 10 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Nightmare Island is a horror-focused survival modpack designed to make Minecraft feel tense and dangerous, with Mist Core and Hardcore Darkness shaping an eerie atmosphere. It was created for ShadowMech’s custom map, but can also be played on a normally generated world. Survival brings threats including Banshees, wendigos, gravediggers and undead; wendigos can pounce when they cannot reach players by running, and Banshees are described as especially troublesome. Farming is risky because ravens and bugs work together to steal exposed crops, while other mobs can dig them up and carry them away. Going outside at night is especially perilous, and swamp mobs add further danger in swamp biomes. The pack includes a range of weapons and tools for survival, as well as craftable armor such as Molten Armor, which requires a trip to the Nether.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 19 Jul 2021). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 25 of its 26 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (19 Jul 2021) in the 13 mods we checked.
2 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
11 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
