Learn magic through a guided school adventure and questbook.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 26 graded mods, 3 are graded A or B, 3 C and 20 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.7.10. See the mods
School of Thaumaturgy is a beginner-focused modpack built around learning Thaumcraft 4 and several of its popular addons through a guided school experience. Its questbook leads players from basic Thaumcraft concepts through Eldritch research and onward to Ichorium, aiming to make the magic systems approachable without relying on outside tutorials. The school’s classrooms help demonstrate how to set up large magical constructs, and include spaces devoted to alchemy and Witching Gadgets; the school also provides basic nodes to get players started with wand recharging. Players can progress toward building an infusion altar and encounter features such as the Arcane Bore and an Eldritch Portal, while experimenting with selected Thaumcraft items and receiving warnings about more destructive ones. Among the included Thaumcraft addons are Thaumic Exploration, Thaumic Tinkerer, and Witching Gadgets, alongside convenience and quest-book tools such as Better Questing. The Thaumcraft mini-game is disabled so it does not interrupt learning, and the school leaves room for players to establish separate bases in multiplayer.
Written from CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.7.10 · Forge, 15 Jun 2017). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 3 Dec 2016 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 29 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 29 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI tool in the 9 mods we checked, and no AI content is declared for them on Modrinth.
20 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
