About
Kartixx's Alpha Sound Pack brings selected classic Minecraft sounds into the newer game while retaining most sounds added in later versions, aiming for a nostalgic mix of old and new. It restores familiar sounds for player damage, rain, doors, trapdoors, fence gates, chests, lily pads, soul sand, grass, dirt, gravel, sand, stone, snow, wool, leaves, and wood. The pack also changes sounds for TNT and creeper explosions, pistons, flint and steel, fire, bows, water, lava, splashing, cows, sheep, endermen, skeletons, and slimes. For newer content, it adapts berry-bush, drowning, and fire damage to the classic player-damage sound; crossbows to the bow sound; barrels and ender chests to the chest-toggle sound; and several newer stone-like blocks to classic stone sounds. Rooted dirt and soul soil likewise use classic dirt sounds, scaffolding uses ladder steps, smokers use furnace cooking sounds, and dolphin splashes use the familiar splash sound; underwater movement and minecart sounds are muted.
